Privacy Policy
How a typical LMS handles learner data. Replace with your own privacy notice and DPA when you go live.
1. Data we collect
- Account data: name, email, role (student/instructor).
- Learning data: enrolled courses, progress, completion, notes, and messages.
- Technical data: IP address, device/browser information, and simple analytics to understand usage.
2. How we use your data
- To deliver course content and track your learning progress.
- To personalize recommendations (e.g. suggested questions).
- To provide support, detect abuse, and keep the platform secure.
3. AI & third-party services
AI features may send prompts and context (such as course titles, lesson summaries, or your questions) to third-party AI providers. Payment processing and email delivery are also handled by your chosen vendors (e.g. Stripe, Lemon Squeezy, Resend).
4. Data retention
In a production setup you should define how long you keep learning data, how users can request deletion, and how backups are handled. Use this starter page as a placeholder while you finalize your own policy.
5. Your rights
Depending on your jurisdiction, learners may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete their personal data. Link those requests to your support/contact email once you deploy.
